The Mini World's End in Madolsima and the Rural Life.
Sri Lankais truly a beautiful country where you can see number of mesmerizing locations which unveil the beauty of Sri Lanka. The Mini World's End in Madolsima is one such picture-postcard place located in Badulla district, Uva province.
The one who wants to witness the Mini World's End in Madolsima, you need to reach Passara town. If you travel from Colombo, it will take approximately 7 1/2 hours due to to the travelling distance of about 180km. From Passara, you need to get on to Pitamaruwa road on your left to reach Madolsima which is a small, crowded town specially on Sundays because of the Sunday fair.
Though there is a combination of ethnic diversity in Madolsima town the majority of them is Tamils. The main livelihood of them is agriculture. Most of the Tamils work in tea estates and tea factories while others do crop cultivation especially vegetables. Their lives are not so easy as they have to struggle a lot due to abject poverty and less infrastructure facilities. Eventhough they are having healthy lives and their life span is nearly 80-90 years may be due to the fresh environment. Most of the Tamils who work in estates live in the line rooms in the estate while others possess their own houses.
To reach the Mini World's End, one must travel 23km, 42km and 61km from Madolsima, Passara and Badulla respectively. It is located at the end of the exuberant tea plantation Roeberry Estate.
On the way to the Mini World's End, you will be able to see natural rock which is called D.S.rock. According to the villagers, this rock has got its name as it has similar looks of Mr.D.S.Senanayake
On your way to the Mini World's End, you'll be refreshed by the chill breeze blow passing through the lush tea plantations. The elevation of the Madolsima mountain is 1257 feet and 2300-3400 above the sea level. When you climb on the top of the mountain it seems like a heaven where you see the breathtaking views of the endless mountain ranges with greenery vegetation cover and the blue sky with cotton woolly clouds.
The highest part of the rock belongs to Roeberry estate and the lower part to the Dorapoda in Bibile. These ranges of hills are always covered with misty veil which break the monotony of the life of the traveller when it blends with the salubrious climate. When the mist disappears you'll be able to see Monaragala, Mahiyanganaya, Kandy, Ampara, Bible, Batticaloa, Senanayaka resorviour and other few tanks.
The unspoiled natural beauty of the environment of the Mini World's End urges the travellers to visit this magnificent place. The panoramic view of the waterfalls such as Aradunu falls, Umang Oya, Bambarabotuwa and Kekunagala exceeded the value and the charming beauty of this destination.
